In the first chapter, the Author concisely portrayed the nature of the manufacture of arms in the Roman state. The second chapter concerns the workers at state arm’s factories, that is, the so-called fabricenses. In the third chapter, the Author analysed the complicated issue of supervision over state arm’s factories. The fourth chapter is committed to interdiction of the collection of weapons by private individuals which originated from lex Iulia de vi publica, as well as restrictions on weapons’ usage. Chapter five deals with the prohibition on selling weapons to Barbaricum. In the sixth chapter the Author translated and analysed Justinian the Great’s Novel 85, by which the emperor introduced for the first time in the history of the Roman Empire the state monopoly for production and distribution of weapons. In the summary, a further history of fabricae and fabricenses is briefly presented, along with the main changes in the field of production and distribution of arms after Justinian’s death."]
